The quintessential piece everyone needs to have in their closet. Pick from a longer more traditional blazer with a pushed up sleeve, or the more fitted and trendy shawl collar one that has a short length and flattering diagonal bottom cut.

The Black Pencil Skirt
There is a reason why this is a staple. It is all about where it hits you in relation to your knee. The “Simlu skirt” ( see below) is going for that slim tighter finish, while the society NYC one is more generous in its cut. Note for work have it hit right at the knee or for a more leggy look ( younger office ) got 2” above the knee BUT not any less to keep it professional and classic.

PANTS ARE HARD TO FIT NO JOKE
I created a “start up” a few years back with the goal of creating the perfect fitting pant. Needless to say it was pretty hard and I did a lot of research on pants. So…
Until we find the magic pair, my advice is to look for a pair with stretch and try them all on.
Then when you find a great pair BUY TWO - and get the black & navy versions or the black & the white versions of a great fitting pant. Confession you will see this in my closet a good pair of pants is as hard to find!

It’s masterfully cut, looks good on just about everyone, and if you care for it you can wear to every interview, dinner, date, meeting, funeral, you get my point it’s perfect.
I have the Jackie O and yes I paid that kinda $$$ for it. ( I think the smaller sizes are sold out it’s a classic piece)
Honesty, It has paid for itself - knowing I have in my closet a perfect dress to wear to what ever event that suddenly shows up on my schedule - be it dinner or presentation.
